Preparing for this Journey!

After months and months of prayer, contemplation, meetings, more prayer and then making the final decision the time has come to leave life as I know it and enter into the unknown on another continent. I've always had the itch to leave Winnipeg but never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would ever be just days away to leaving for a 6 month term to Swaziland South Africa. God is so good and never ceases to amaze me. When I graduated from Bible College a year ago I didn't anticipate that the next step for me would be this big. The journey to Swaziland pre travel has been an amazing one, a time for me and God to really connect and a chance for me to take one of the biggest steps of faith in my life thus far. He has been so faithful and has provided in so many ways for me to make this dream a reality. Thats what this is really, a dream come true. I'm sad to leave my family and friends but so excited for what the next piece will look like. So now with 2 days to go I am knee deep in packing and spending as much time with the people I love before I go. My Teen Challenge family has been an integral part at making this all a reality, I can't imagine where latelyI would be on this journey without Brother Steve, Michelle and Danny to name a few. Selfless people taking the time to walk along side a person, that reality has been blowing me away lately. Saying goodbye to my work family here at Splash has been one of the more emotional hurdles but I know that God has that end of things all under control. I am leaving a bunch of new beginnings here as well, my 1 month old niece Lily, best friends Travis and Aja getting prepared to get married, friends Cher and Stephen taking there own step of faith with there own family. My travel itineracy is a little daunting but I figure once I have this trip under my belt no travel will ever be a challenge. The schedule goes like this: Winnipeg to Minneapolis, Minneapolis to Amsterdam, Amsterdam to Johannesburg, Johannesburg to Manzini and in between that there are lay overs and over night stays. Keep me in your prayers for sure, the next few days I have a feeling will fly right by. I will keep you posted for sure! Blessings.
